Helping Students Move Forward with a $1,000 Scholarship
With over 30 years of experience in the moving industry, we’ve helped countless families and individuals navigate their relocations with care and ease. Whether moving to a new city, starting college, or relocating with family, every move holds significance.
We also recognize the unique challenges students face—whether it’s moving out of campus housing for the summer, storing belongings between living arrangements, or relocating temporarily for internships or study abroad programs. Moving and organizing belongings can be a lot to manage, and we’re here to offer moving, packing, and storage services to make these transitions easier.
To support students during these important moments, we’re proud to offer a $1,000 scholarship to assist with academic expenses, allowing students to focus more on their studies and less on the logistics of relocation.
Scholarship Details
- Award Amount: $1,000
- Submission Format: Essay (500–750 words)
- Topic: “The Most Meaningful Move in My Life”
- Eligibility: Open to high school seniors, university students, and college students enrolled in an accredited U.S. institution
- Deadline: June 1, 11:59 PM EST. Late submissions will be declined.
- Winner Announcement: June 15
How to Apply
1. Write a 500–750 word essay on “The Most Meaningful Move in My Life.” Your essay should reflect on a personal moving experience that had a lasting impact on your life. Consider how the move changed your perspective, challenged you, or helped you grow.

Selection Criteria
The winning essay will be selected based on:
- Creativity & Originality – A unique and compelling story.
- Clarity & Organization – Well-structured and engaging writing.
- Impact & Reflection – How well the essay conveys personal growth and significance of the move.
- Relevance to Topic – How effectively the essay addresses the theme.
- Fairness and Authenticity – All submissions will be checked for plagiarism and AI-generated content using Grammarly. Essays that are not original or are found to be generated by AI will be disqualified.
Review Process
After the submission deadline, essays will be shortlisted by our selection committee. All shortlisted essays will be posted on our Instagram and Facebook pages for public voting.
Voting works as follows:
- Each like and comment on your essay post on our social media pages counts as one vote
- Finalists can boost their votes by sharing their essay on their personal Instagram
- Tag @whiteglovemoving in your personal Instagram post to have those likes and comments counted toward your total
- Use Instagram’s Collaborate feature with us to have all likes and comments on the collaborative post count toward your final vote tally.
The essay that receives the highest combined vote count across Instagram and Facebook will be awarded the scholarship. The winner will be notified via email and announced on our website and social media channels.
Privacy & Data Usage
All personal information submitted through the application form will be used solely for the purpose of the scholarship application. White Glove Moving & Storage will not share or sell applicants’ personal data. Applicants’ names and essays will be published on our website and social media channels for public voting.
Terms & Conditions
- The scholarship funds will be paid directly to the winner within one month of the winner’s announcement.
- The winner is responsible for any tax implications of receiving the scholarship.
- By submitting an entry, applicants grant White Glove Moving & Storage permission to publish their essay on our website and social media.

We used White Glove for a recent move. The moving guys we started with at our old house were nice, responsible, and fast. The problems began when our stuff arrived at our new place.
First, we had different movers on the other side. Two of them worked for White Glove, but the others seemed to be local hires. These local guys were pretty careless with our stuff: they dropped boxes and bumped furniture against walls. Not really "white glove" service.
Second, White Glove took apart a lot of our furniture as part of the move, and they didn't reassemble it all at the new house. At some point during the move in, their local hires just left, and the two remaining guys couldn't do all of the work and basically gave up. They also were careless with keeping track of the various screws/parts needed to assemble the furniture, making it a pain for us to finish reassembly ourselves.
Lastly, White Glove damaged an expensive piece of furniture during the move. We know this as a fact as we have photos of before and after. Our move was months ago, and we've been calling White Glove basically every week to arrange compensation for this damage, and we keep getting the runaround from their customer service. They don't take our calls. They say their claims staff is busy. They don't call us back.
All together, I'll say this: White Glove was expensive. If we paid half the price we did, I'd give them a 4/5. But because we paid so much, we expected more. Just go with a cheaper moving service.

I have moved over 20 times in my lifetime, and this was the 2nd worst moving experience I have ever had. Not one, not two, not three, ...but multiple items were broken or damaged. In addition, multiple items were assembled incorrectly. The people that actually moved the items into my home couldn't have cared less about our things. Unfortunately, I took the minimum insurance. If you plan to use White Glove, make sure to get the "repair and/or replace" insurance to save yourself of major headaches.

Simply amazing! As this was our first move using a moving company, we were very nervous. If you've heard horror stories about moving companies, this is NOT one of them. They were patient and professional during the entire process. In case your worrying about additional fees, the crew was fast and did not delay the process at all. If your questioning boxes and packaging materials in your estimate, STOP. They are the professionals. We thought we did a good job packing ourselves until we saw how much more packing materials were needed. Your items will be handled with care, from wrapping furniture to carefully packing boxes that you may not have gotten around to. Hope this review concludes you searching for a moving company because these guys are no joke. I believe my crew leaders name was Ezat. Special thank you to him for keeping the job flowing as smooth as it did. Lastly, please tip these people accordingly. THEY ARE BUSTING THEIR A$$ FOR YOUR MOVE! EXCELLENT!!! If we could give these folks a hundred stars we would. The men that showed up were so professional and polite. Wonderful and respectful people. Our furniture was wrapped carefully and delicately handled. Each and every piece. They carried my large up right piano with such care and accuracy. They wrapped my piano and made sure it was handled with care. In addition, we have a 600lb safe which the men had no problem getting that down from our upstairs room to the truck. My husband and I have moved over 12 times and we have never seen such professionalism and care in handling our furniture. We wish we knew of this company many years ago with all our other moves. If you go with WG, you can sit back and relax as your furniture, etc. will be handled with care. THE VERY BEST!!

Was relocating within the same state & needed to store my belongings until my home was available. I met with moving coordinator Ronnie Ulman. Ronnie spent time walking through my home taking pictures of the items and accessing the cost to move. In addition I rented a POD that was already filled with my daughter’s belongings as she was moving to a different home within the same area. Ronnie indicated I would need a 10x 20 storage unit to temporarily house everything. 5 men showed up with 2 trucks the day of the move and got right to work, the lead person was Marton who was professional and explained what would occur. The men got right to work wrapping, boxing and moving items into the trucks. Eight hours later, Marton told me the 2 trucks they brought were almost packed and he didn’t think the 10x20 storage unit would be enough, mind you the storage unit was closing in an hour. He told me I am approx 30% over capacity, he didn’t know what size unit I would need to store the remainder of the items? I called the storage unit and explained what he told me & they said another 10x10 unit should be suffice. I rented another unit over the phone they proceeded to complete loading the trucks,
We all got to the unit after 6pm ( 8 hours later) as the men started to unload. The first truck was unloaded and packed in storage unit to the brim. When the 2nd truck opened at the loading dock the truck looked like it flipped upside down. All my boxes were crushed and I was horrified. As they started to fill the 2nd unit Marlon approached me and said this unit is not enough space to store the remaining items. I looked at him and said what do we do and he didn’t know, he called the company and they had no idea either. I said how can this happen as their coordinator came to access and told me what was needed. They agreed to hold the items in their truck but will charge me for storage until I can secure yet another unit in the morning.
The next day I spoke with Margaret Lombardi, executive director who told me the company is not responsible to give information on what size unit the customer needs when using self storage? Why does a coordinating rep come and take pics and offer this advice, he never indicated it was up to me and even recommended storage places to use nearby.
Although the movers were professional enough the day was almost 12 hrs for them, they were tired and getting sloppy as time went on, my home was left with debris & the floors were scuffed from moving. I felt the company made me feel this was my fault.
I would never recommend this company even if they were for free!!!!!!

I got scammed by my previous “moving company” and had to book White Glove Moving the day before my move. The people at White Glove Moving went above and beyond to fit me in with my tight schedule and I am forever grateful!! Francisco and his team showed up on time and completely blew my mind with their efficiency and attention to detail. As a perfume collector I had already packed 80+ bottles of perfume in preparation for the move. Francisco saw how fragile they are and INDIVIDUALLY PACKED EACH BOTTLE AGAIN. That was insane. We paid over $10K for 1 small truck move. They told use we do not need insurance because we are paying a premium price for a premium service. 9K leather couch was not set up properly, no longer reclines. Metal Pantry shelving was all bent, not useable anymore. They did not set up the glass dining table Correctly either. One part of it is also not usable. They pretty much told us it is what it is. Paid almost another $1K in tips for their workers and this is the service we received. Would not use again. This was mediocre at best.

White glove arrived on time, finished my move early and delivered everything in perfect condition. They didn’t bump any walls and were amazing through tight spaces. I have a crumby desk I built myself with some cheap ikea components. It broke in transit (due to my construction being shoddy, not them). They fixed it when they saw the break and now it’s sturdier than it was before the move. Their pricing was fair and transparent. They quoted me 7 hours and took an hour off the price when we finished early. I have a few friends with similarly positive experiences too.

I pre packed most- not all- of my items before arrival and the crew who picked up my freight seemed efficient, professional and fastidious with moving the bins and packing the pre designated items I had not pre packed. Prior and immediately after pick up, it seemed there was good communication from the home office but no real definitive date for arrival, just a very long window. No real status updates or anything about expected time of arrival until the day before, 7 days after pick up. I learned on the day of the move it would be a totally different crew delivering my stuff and the load would first go to a warehouse before hitting the road. The day my stuff arrived, it was late afternoon and only one person (there was another person in the truck but they did not appear until the move was almost complete). Because we had no certain time of delivery we could not reserve parking in front of the home so the trucked parked just across the street. One person moving all my items… it would have taken forever and hardly seemed safe. My partner and I ended up helping, working right alongside our one mover. While the pick up crew all wore branded company uniforms, the delivery personnel did not. How they moved items was different too. One person pushing a dolly of heavy goods up just installed Saltillo steps with no help just didn’t seem safe or professional. My super fit partner was worried about the safety of our mover so he took to helping with the heavier items. I asked that floors be covered, so they covered brand new floors with filthy blankets that slid when you walked on them. Regardless, the mover still walked all over the uncovered parts. I could not blame him, he was working hard and doing what he could as the one person white glove show. My partner manned the list for the white glove rep, checking off items as they were brought in. He couldn’t even see the items but would check off the numbered boxes, bins or furniture coming through the door as directed. I unpacked the boxes that had been packed by White Glove the week before. Wardrobe boxes crushed, the rack meant to prop clothing was bent. All the clothing inside, crushed and wrinkled. I had just a handful of furniture pieces packed by white glove and one of those was pretty scratched up. One of my art pieces was dented in a corner. I took pictures of everything as discovered. Towards the end of the move, a second white glove “employee” helped break down boxes and remove packing materials. Between the four of us, we got it done. No one from White Glove ever followed up to ask how it all went. I suspect they know. This was the 2nd and final move with white glove.

They were careful, wrapped my things like they were their own. Offered their advice and guidance where appropriate and did not rush out. The lead mover made sure we did a thorough walk through to ensure things were placed where I wanted them and that I didn't need any additional things to be moved. I was able to unbox about 65 boxes and they took them all away, what a relief! Thanks to the entire team at White Glove.

They were patient and professional during the entire process. In case your worrying about additional fees, the crew was fast and did not delay the process at all. If your questioning boxes and packaging materials in your estimate, STOP. They are the professionals. We thought we did a good job packing ourselves until we saw how much more packing materials were needed. Your items will be handled with care, from wrapping furniture to carefully packing boxes that you may not have gotten around to. Our furniture was wrapped carefully and delicately handled. Each and every piece. They carried my large up right piano with such care and accuracy. They wrapped my piano and made sure it was handled with care. In addition, we have a 600lb safe which the men had no problem getting that down from our upstairs room to the truck. My husband and I have moved over 12 times and we have never seen such professionalism and care in handling our furniture. We wish we knew of this company many years ago with all our other moves. If you go with WG, you can sit back and relax as your furniture, etc. will be handled with care. THE VERY BEST!!

I got scammed by my previous “moving company” and had to book White Glove Moving the day before my move. The people at White Glove Moving went above and beyond to fit me in with my tight schedule and I am forever grateful!! Francisco and his team showed up on time and completely blew my mind with their efficiency and attention to detail. White glove arrived on time, finished my move early and delivered everything in perfect condition. They didn’t bump any walls and were amazing through tight spaces. I have a crumby desk I built myself with some cheap ikea components. It broke in transit (due to my construction being shoddy, not them). They fixed it when they saw the break and now it’s sturdier than it was before the move. Their pricing was fair and transparent. They quoted me 7 hours and took an hour off the price when we finished early. I have a few friends with similarly positive experiences too.

Amazing company! They facilitated our move and helped pack and secure many valuables. We were absolutely blown away by how amazing White Glove Moving and Storage was. We had a move within Jersey City a few years back by another moving company and it was a nightmare. From start to finish, White Glove Moving exceeded all expectations. The communication leading up to our move was clear, thorough, and professional.
We found WGM through Peloton, as they are certified to move their bikes and treadmills. Russo came to our apartment and did a walk through weeks prior to our move to give us a quote. This blew us away. How professional!

The best move ever …. Former military so I moved every 2 to 3 years for over 20 years. This move was by far the best. Frank and his team (Patrick and Mikel) were fast and courteous. They treated my household goods as if it were theirs and made a point of protecting each and every item.
I cannot recommend this team and this service enough.

Great moving service, accurate quote with someone actually going to your house to inventory and provide information based on your household needs. They disassemble and reassemble furniture, moving team members are punctual, very polite and hardworking.

These guys helped us move from a large home into a smaller home and pack out a storage unit in 2024. We just rehired them for our 2025 move out of storage....
We had a good experience with White Glove movers. it took them couple of hrs longer than estimated but nothing was broken and no damage to the property....

Moving with White Glove was super easy and smooth. The process was professional starting at the scheduling of the estimate all the way through moving day. The moving team did their job quickly and professionally and there were no issues of lost or broken items. 6/7/2025 I'd never used a moving company before, always moved myself. The sales and office staff were knowledgeable, supportive and patient. The movers went above and beyond. They were careful, wrapped my things like they were their own. Offered their advice and guidance where appropriate and did not rush out. The lead mover made sure we did a thorough walk through to ensure things were placed where I wanted them and that I didn't need any additional things to be moved. I was able to unbox about 65 boxes and they took them all away, what a relief! Thanks to the entire team at White Glove.
